EUREKA Event Final Table

Seat 1: Andreas Freund, 25, Vienna, Austria – 4,515,000
Andreas Freund studies Spanish and Journalism but is a professional Omaha and Hold’em cash game player as well. He started playing poker in 2007 and began playing full time a year later. He bought in directly for the Eureka Poker Tour Main Event and has already beaten his biggest tournament cash from November 2013 when he won a €1,000 event in Seefeld for €17,630.

Seat 2: Robert Malinowski, 49, Poland, PokerStars qualifier - 3,305,000
The oldest player at the final table Robert Malinowski has poker as a hobby, running a business for a job. He enjoys his biggest poker achievement and so does his wife who supports him here in the Hofburg. Robert also likes to read a lot. He made quite impressive come back on day 2 starting the last level with only 12 big blinds and finished with ten times bigger stack.

Seat 3: Markus Stöger, 44, Vienna, Austria – 5,495,000
Markus is a self-employed gastronome and a recreational poker player. He started playing poker in cash games but these days mainly focuses on tournaments. His best result was back in 2010 when won a €250 event in Vienna for €30,600.

Seat 4: Stavros Kalfos, 32, Thessaloniki, Greece, PokerStars Player – 1,050,000
Hailing from Thessaloniki, Stavros Kalfos is a 32 year-old professional poker player. Previously he was one of PokerStars' “Greek Challengers”. Kalfos mostly plays tournaments, both online and live. He has finalled the Sunday Warm-Up four times, winning it twice while live he has cashed in the EPT three times and also chopped the €2,000 side event at EPT San Remo for €90,000 back in 2010.

Seat 5: Bryan Paris, 28, Huntington Beach, USA, PokerStars player - 5,430,000
He still waits for a first 6-figure score in live event but his online results prove that he is very experienced player. Bryan Paris has scored more than $6.6 million online with more than half of it on PokerStars. He needs to finish at least 6th to lock the record live cashout, which came in the WSOP; he has cashed 12 times in the World Series so far. Though tommorow will be his first final table experience in a live tournament.

Seat 6: Erik Scheidt, 26, Rostock, Germany, PokerStars Player - 950,000
Erik Scheidt is a computer specialist and plays poker recreationally. Last year he finished 5th place in the Berlin Cup at EPT Berlin taking home €31,000 – his biggest cash so far. Outside of poker, Scheidt enjoys playing football.

Seat 7: Blazej Przygorzewski, 22, Poznan, Poland, PokerStars qualifier - 5,430,000
Playing only his third live event in a career but the the 22-year old Blazej Przygorzewski knows very well how the glory feels. He is a three time Polish champion in sailing and now he can break through even in poker. Blazej plays poker for three years online with a biggest cash of about 17 thousand dollars.

Seat 8: Zoltan Gal, 27, Hungary, PokerStars qualifier - 2,245,000
Another great deep run for Zoltan Gal who finished 19th in the Eureka Prague Main Event three months ago. He's playing poker for 5 years, mostly the online high stakes cash game. He calls himself a semi-pro, trying to succeed in live tournaments for two years. This final table appearance is his best so far, surpassing a $27k hit in Las Vegas. He would celebrate the victory with a steak, his favourite meal.

EPT Event Final Table

Seat 1: Oleksii Khoroshenin, 27, Ukraine - 2,150,000
Khoroshenin is an EPT regular who has been playing the tour since Season 8. This is his best live result to date. Prior to EPT Vienna his best cash came when he was runner-up to Joao Barbosa in the EPT Barcelona €5k six-handed turbo in September. He also finished 53rd at last season’s EPT Berlin Main Event for €15,000 and came close to making the final of the EPT Prague €10k High Roller in December, finishing tenth for €32,800. He is currently ranked 20th in the Ukraine all-time money list with $278,873 in live tournament winnings to date.

Seat 2: Anthony Ghamrawi, 27, Vienna, Austria - PokerStars qualifier - 5,150,000
Playing in his home city of Vienna, Ghamrawi spent Day 5 wearing a baseball cap signed by Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu on the TV table. He got a bunch of chips on Day 4 by doubling up through British pro Stephen Chidwick and then busting former chip leader Sebastian Trisch with QQ. Ghamrawi’s best live result to date was defeating a 1,465 strong field in one of the Rio’s $235 Daily Deepstack tourneys in Vegas for $54,344. He also made the final of the WPT Vienna Main Event in 2012, finishing ninth for €19,660. However, making today’s final, where he’s guaranteed at least €77,000, is by far his biggest live result. He won his seat to EPT Vienna in a €320 NLHE Deep Hyper-Turbo qualifier in February and has live tournament winnings to date of more than $124,000.

Seat 3: Marko “BriDge2PaiN” Neumann, 27, Recklinghausen, Germany – PokerStars qualifier
Neumann is an EPT regular and his best live result to date came on the EPT when he finished seventh in Berlin in Season 6 for €120,000. He has been playing poker for nine years, the last seven as pro and is a successful online Multi Table Tournament and Sit and Go player. Only two weeks ago, he took down the PokerStars Sunday 500 for $83,790. He qualified for EPT Vienna online in a €82+R satellite. He and his long-term girlfriend Aga had been planning to fly to Thailand on holiday yesterday but Neumann has wisely changed his flight to Sunday instead.

Seat 4: Simeon "IamBuddhaa" Naydenov, 26, Sofia, Bulgaria - 3,550,000
Simoen Naydenov first hit the spotlight when he bubbled the final table at EPT Campione in Season 8 for €41,000. However, the major turning point in his poker career came last summer when he became the second ever Bulgarian to win a WSOP bracelet, taking down the $1,500 shootout for $326,440. Now aged 26, Naydenov graduated in Business and Economics before taking up poker with friends. Competing in casinos gave him the impetus to start playing professionally and his first major cash came in Varna in 2009, when he finished fourth in a €1k event for €18,600. Online achievements include second place in the PokerStars PLO WCOOP event in September 2010 for a $36,000 prize. As well as poker, Naydenov also runs a social media marketing company (http://socialmarketingbg.com).
His live tournament winnings amount to more than $860,000. He has also represented Bulgaria in two World Cups of the strategy game “Age of Empires”.

Seat 5: Frei Dilling, 25, Copenhagen, Denmark - 4,230,000
Dilling has played poker for the last seven years and went pro five years ago. He considers himself a cash game player and plays at stakes of 10-20 and up to 50-100 online. This is his second EPT cash and he also has a seventh place finish on the World Poker Tour. Dilling has got a lot of respect from his opponents during the last days and will be second in chips going into the final table tomorrow.

Seat 6: Rumen Nanev, 44, from Bulgaria, living in Portugal - 2,765,000
Nanev, a tour regular who first played an EPT at Sanremo in Season 4, is thrilled to have finally made an EPT final. His best result to date was actually that first event in Italy when he finished fourth in a side event for €61,140. He has had four EPT Main Event cashes including EPT Deauville, 18th for €23,000, and EPT Barcelona, 21st for €20,000. He currently ranks #4 on the Bulgaria all-time money list with fellow finalist Simeon Naydenov at #3. He said: “It was one of my goals to make a final table this year so I feel great. I am really happy that both Simeon and I have made the final. We’ve been supporting each other throughout the tournament. We are good friends and always stick together at events. But no mistake – I’m going after him at the final”. Nanev, who comes from Varna in Bulgaria but moved to Vilamoura in Portugal two years ago, currently has live tournament winnings totaling nearly €500k and is already guaranteed a best-ever live cash.

Seat 7: Pablo Gordillo, 20, Leon, Spain - PokerStars qualifier - 4,075,000
Finance student Pablo Gordillo won his seat on PokerStars.es in a €250 seat+expenses qualifier. He’s had several attempts at qualifying so was thrilled to finally make it. He had a rocky start to the event however – down to just 4,000 chips on Day 1 and starting Day 2 with just 20,600. His fortunes turned on Day 3 when he won a huge pot against Portugal’s Michel Dattani to take the chip lead. He ended the day as chip leader and was second in chips to Timo Pfutzenreuter at the end of Day 4. This is already his biggest cash – either live or online. He came third in a €200 NL side event at Estrellas Madrid in January for € 2,421 and cashed for €12,000 in a Sunday Especial on PokerStars.es two months ago. He said: “Yes, I thought I could make the final. I felt nervous when I was in my hotel room but once I was at the table I felt very calm and confident”. Gordillo came to Vienna with friends Benjamin Garcia and Miguel Riera and all three are planning to move to London in the next few months so they can play on PokerStars.com.

Seat 8: Timo Pfutzenreuter, 23, Bonn, Germany, PokerStars qualifier - 3,740,000
Timo Pfutzenreuter’s best result to date was third place in the WSOP $5k PLO Six-Handed event last summer for $194,14 where he was eliminated by eventual winner Steve Gross. Pfutzenreuter also went deep at EPT8 Berlin, finishing 41st for €15,000 and his total live tournament winnings already amount to more than $300,000. Originally from Bonn in Germany but now studying business at university in Vienna, Pfutzenreuter has been playing EPTs since Season 6. He also has solid online results including winning the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up in 2011 for $117,000 and fifth in TCOOP Event 47 for $104,100. He also took down the PokerStars Monday OLO for $17,000, a PokerStars GCOOP Event for $11,000 and was runner-up in the Sunday 500 for $55,500. He’s spent much of this week reading The Wolf of Wall Street at his table. He won his seat in a €215 NLHE Deep Hyper-Turbo a month ago.
