The first EPT Season 5 event in Barcelona promises to be just as exciting as past seasons - a spectacular city, hundreds of players, a prize pool running into millions. Team PokerStars Pros Isabelle Mercier, Noah Boeken, William Thorson, Vicky Coren, Dario Minieri, ElkY, Luca Pagano and former world champion Greg Raymer will all be there, alongside dozens of players who will have won their seats online with PokerStars.

EPT Season 4 got off to a flying start with a record field at Casino Barcelona. 543 players bought in for €8,000 or qualified online, generating a massive prize pool of over €4.1 million. Danish chess pro Sander Lylloff took down the €1.1 million top prize, beating close friend and EPT London champion Mark Teltscher into second place.

The action at the final table was swift and brutal. Lylloff sat back as three players were knocked out in the first two hours. Then he piled on the pressure, sending another three to the rail on the way to the title. Teltscher’s Kings were no good when Lyloff’s Jack-Ten made trips on the river, and that’s all it took to crown the next EPT millionaire.

Among the contenders in Barcelona were Team PokerStars Pros Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer and Isabelle Mercier, with two-time WSOP champion and Rounders star Johnny Chan also in action. They were joined at the tables by 73 players who won their seats online at PokerStars.

If you're a PlatinumStar VIP or higher, you can buy in to EPT events using your PokerStars W$. Requests should be submitted to ept@pokerstars.com before the final online qualifying tournament on PokerStars (typically two Saturdays before the event).

You can also buy in at the Casino on the day of registration. For more details see the Tournament Info page. Players buying in using W$ will be PokerStars sponsored players for the duration of the EPT event, and are required to wear a PokerStars logo throughout the tournament.
