About Warsaw

WARSAW

Warsaw (Warszawa in Polish) is both the capital of Poland and its largest city, with a population of some 1.6 million people.  Warsaw is currently enjoying the biggest economic boom of its history and has a rich cultural heritage, home to more than 30 major theatres, music venues and festivals as well as numerous museums and art galleries. Frederick Chopin was born in the city.
The Old Town quarter, carefully reconstructed after World War II, is one of the city's most prominent tourist attractions and on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. The "Royal Road" is also a popular attraction, with lots of notable classicist palaces including the Presidential Palace and the Warsaw University campus.
