EPT SEASON 4
EUROPEAN POKER TOUR ANNOUNCES SEASON 4 DATES
Date: June 12, 2007
John Duthie, chief executive of the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour (EPT), today announced the schedule for Season 4 of the EPT.
"The most exciting news for next season is that the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), to be held next January at the Atlantis Casino Resort in the Bahamas, has been added to the EPT schedule. The PCA, a hugely popular event, is now 'an official EPT tournament' and we are delighted to welcome it to our list of events.
Full information on this event will be available soon on the EPT.com website."
Season 4 of the EPT includes all the events which made Season 3 such a success, with record fields and sell-out tournaments across Europe. EPT Season 3 saw 3,483 players taking part, creating a total prize pool of nearly €27 million. Season 4 will starts in Barcelona in August, and new events are expecting to be added in due course.
Last season ended with the spectacular Monte Carlo EPT Grand Final, our biggest event to date, and the richest tournament ever held outside of Las Vegas. Gavin Griffin took the title of EPT champion, winning €1.8 million, after qualifying on PokerStars in a $240 Double Shoot-Out.
"We have raised the buy-ins across the board to €8,000. This decision is based on the limited number of people who can be accommodated at our EPT venues, and the fact that the €10,000 EPT Grand Final - our most expensive event - proved so popular," added John Duthie.
