The first ever EPT event in Hungary takes place October 28-November 1 in the stunning city of Budapest. The €4,350, four-day No Limit Hold’em Hungarian Open follows the phenomenal success of recent EPT launches in Prague and Warsaw and is set to attract players from all over the world.
Hungarians are proving an increasing force in international tournaments. Denes Kalo was runner-up twice in last season’s EPTs – at EPT Baden and the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo - and has amassed a total of €1,554,000 in EPT winnings.
He lies in 8th place on the EPT Tournament Leader Board, as well as being Hungary’s top EPT player. Valdemar Kwaysser, who won his seat for EPT Budapest online with PokerStars, is another Hungarian making a big impact on the global poker scene. He won the first PokerStars.net Latin American Poker Tour event in San José, Costa Rica, in May for $274,103.
The EPT Hungarian Open, which takes place at the Las Vegas Casino in the Sofitel Hotel, is capped at 500 players.
