EPT Rules and Regulations – Section A

In the following list, items in Section A relate to television production requirements  and apply to all the events that form part of each stop on the European Poker Tour (the "EPT"). Section B covers the 'EPT' Tournament Rules and Regulations guidelines and may differ slightly from venue to venue.
Section A:

Branded Logos

  1. Players will be allowed to wear company logos/branding on their shirts provided that the following restrictions are accepted and implemented:
    • One breast pocket logo no larger than 3cm x 4cm
    • One upper shirt sleeve logo no larger than 3cm x 4cm
  2. No other branding on any part of the clothing or body.
  3. Certain events have specific local legal regulations with regards to branding. Please see the event homepage for any specific legal requirements for that event.
  4. Baseball caps and card protectors with logos will be allowed but no logos must be visible on them on the TV table.
  5. Players can be sponsored by a company only before the tournament start. Any un-sponsored player, not wearing branded clothing or logos at the beginning of an 'EPT' tournament, can only be sponsored by the headline sponsor (Pokerstars.com) (the "Sponsor").
  6. No more than 10% of the overall entry field at any event on the 'EPT' can wear the branding/logos of any single company with the exception of the headline sponsor of that event. If more than 10% of the players from any single company are wearing the branding/logos of any single company, then the players themselves or a company representative must decide which players wear the branded clothing. If no decision is made, then Euro Poker Tour Ltd will high card the players to make a decision.
  7. No more than 2 players on the final table can wear the logos of any single company. If more than 2 players from any single company reach the final table then the players themselves or a company representative must decide which 2 players wear the branded clothing. If no decision is made, then Euro Poker Tour Ltd will high card the players to make a decision. Any player starting the final table with no logos must remain wearing no logos throughout the final.
  8. Euro Poker Tour Ltd and the Tournament Director will have absolute discretion to approve the clothing and apparel worn by the players during the event. They will also have the right to remove any logo, image or words on the players' clothing and apparel, which in the opinion of Euro Poker Tour Ltd or the Tournament Director contravenes the requirements of the commissioning broadcaster, Euro Poker Tour Ltd or any regulatory body.

Winners Grand Final Seat

  1. Each EPT stop will include a main event and   winners of this event will be offered a seat and accommodation in the final event of the EPT (the "Grand Final") by the Sponsor subject to such player consenting to wear the Sponsor branded clothing provided by the Sponsor exclusively throughout the entirety of the Grand Final.
  2. For the avoidance of doubt any winning player that receives a seat in the Grand Final from the Sponsor will remain entirely responsible for the costs of travel to, from and at the Grand Final.
  3. In the event that a winning player who receives a seat to the Grand Final is not able to participate in the Grand Final or refuses to wear Sponsor branded clothing exclusively at the Grand Final such player will forfeit his/her seat in the Grand Final and shall have no claims against either of the Sponsor or Euro Poker Tour Ltd. in such regard and neither the Sponsor nor Euro Poker Tour Ltd shall have any obligation to compensate the winning player in any way.
  4. Seats in the Grand Final granted to winning players are neither transferable nor exchangeable and cannot be exchanged for money or money's worth.

Filming and Image

  1. Some preliminary rounds, and the final table of some tournaments, will be filmed for transmission by a production company  and broadcast as a delayed television series and/or as a live webcast.
  2. Players competing in any event on the EPT are required to permit their image to be shown on television internationally, without restriction and in all forms of media. Entry into each tournament is taken as that player giving their consent to participate in the TV coverage.
  3. Furthermore, all consents under the UK Performers Rights Protection Acts 1958 to 1972, or under similar legislation in other countries of the world in connection with the player's performance in any event forming part of the EPT, and the exploitation of the player's performance in any event on the EPT by any means and in all media including (but not by way of limitation) all forms of theatrical exhibition, television broadcast, internet, and video gram exploitation are hereby granted and assigned by the player to Euro Poker Tour Ltd.
  4. Any player playing in any event on the EPT acknowledges to European Poker Tour Ltd that the entire copyright throughout the world in any film and /or video or other recordings of themselves taken or made during any event on the 'EPT' shall belong to Euro Poker Tour Ltd.
  5. The player warrants to Euro Poker Tour Ltd that they are able to assign all such rights and give such acknowledgements.
  6. Any player in any event on the 'EPT' agrees to carry out any reasonable request by Euro Poker Tour Ltd during the event to assist in publicizing, televising or promoting the event.
  7. Any player playing in any event on the 'EPT' agrees to disclose their hole cards to the hidden camera at the final table and any refusal to do so could lead to disqualification from the event with no prize money being awarded and no refunds given.
  8. Players must make themselves available to attend press conferences and/or television interviews at any reasonable time during any event on the 'EPT' if requested by Euro Poker Tour Ltd or the Tournament Director.
  9. Euro Poker Tour Ltd reserves the right to add or amend any tournament rules, as they deem appropriate. This will be done for the benefit of the game and all contestants will be informed of such changes as and when they occur.

Tournament Entry and Registration

  1. You hereby acknowledge and agree that you are not entitled to be sponsored (either directly or indirectly) into a tournament of the EPT by a third party that is an Unauthorised Satellite Operator (as defined below) nor are you entitled to wear the branded logos of any Unauthorised Satellite Operator. If Euro Poker Tour Ltd. determines, in its sole discretion, that you have been sponsored into an EPT festival by an Unauthorised Satellite Operator and/or you are wearing a branded logo or logos of an Unauthorised Satellite Operator it is entitled to require (including by instructing the Venue and/or the Tournament Director at an EPT festival to give effect to its determination) that you immediately remove the branded logos and/or to disqualify you from the festival. You waive any claims you may otherwise have against Euro Poker Tour Ltd. in this regard.

An "Unauthorised Satellite Operator" shall mean a third party (including, but not limited to online poker operators and offline casinos and poker rooms) which conducts tournaments which offer as a prize a free buy-in to, or registers players to, an EPT festival without obtaining the requisite licence in the form provided by Euro Poker Tour Ltd. or, if such third party is a holder of such licence, is not in full compliance with the terms of such licence. For more information go to : http://www.europeanpokertour.com/about/licence/

  1. A condition of entry into any tournament on the 'EPT' will be the completion and signing by each player of a release form detailing all the above and distributed at the individual events by Euro Poker Tour Ltd and the event organisers. In the event that a player fails to complete and sign the aforementioned release form Euro Poker Tour Ltd. may, in its sole and absolute discretion, disqualify such player at any point in the tournament. If a player is disqualified, he or she shall forfeit all entry fees and not be entitled to any tournament prizes monies or any other prize consideration that he or she may otherwise have been entitled to at the point of disqualification.
